We all agree the the key to staying well is PREVENTION.  Even in our nations capitol, while different government agencies focus on prevention  and protecting our country, someone has to look out for those who help us.  Today, I was honored to be that person.  With an invitation from the DHS (specifically The Chief Information Officer (CIO), National Protection Programs Directorate (NPPD), we spent an hour focusing overall wellness and balance in life and health.  With the hours spent behind computers, and the hours DRIVING (which I am not a fan of), along with the stress of any important job, today’s audience was given wellness strategies and injury prevention ideas that they can start on NOW!

We took the time to explain how the spine and body works mechanically, and what can happen when put under different pressures physically and emotionally.  We discussed what I like to call the “Office Athlete”.  What can they be doing before work, during work and after work, to not only get healthy but stay healthy.  We talked about posture and it’s affect on the spine.  Better ways to perform simple tasks such as getting in and out of a car. We even touched on the benefits of exercise and so much more.  Thank you again to all those that participated and more importantly, the people that cared enough to invite me and share information that will keep their employees at work longer and healthier.

I love this stuff!
