Dr. Scanlon graduated from Palmer College in 2013, earning her Doctorate in Chiropractic, and from Salisbury University in 1998 with a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Kinesiology. Participating in the Palmer College of Chiropractic Sports Council along the way to graduation.
Following graduation, Dr. Scanlon continued her formal education with courses in the National Strength and Conditioning Association’s Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (1999), Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization A and B, Mobility, Dragon Door’s Hardstyle Kettlebell Certification, beginners Mace training, Indian Club training, and Advanced Soft Tissue training including Graston Technique.
Since then, Dr. Scanlon has continued to develop her knowledge through a variety of courses and seminars with an emphasis on strength training, mobility, health, and psychological aspects of injury, pain, and rehabilitation. With her expertise, Dr. Julie teaches how to safely rehabilitate from injury, and strength train.
While pursuing her degree at Salisbury U., Dr. Scanlon participated in the club powerlifting teams and organized the club as its President. She continues to volunteer in the sport of powerlifting at local, regional, national, and international levels.
